Muscat: The fast growing Oman-UK Alumni Network, founded by the British Council, has over 1,200 members across Oman. Membership of this network is open to all UK graduates residing in Oman.
An Entrepreneurship and Employability event was held this week under the auspices of Hamish Cowell, British Ambassador to Oman, and in the presence of Tahir bin Salim bin Abdullah Al Amri, Executive President, Central Bank of Oman, at the Grand Hyatt.
The event was aimed at budding entrepreneurs, new graduates, those looking for career advice and those thinking of a career change.
The event hosted several stations and talks by prominent alumni speakers aimed at aiding individuals at different stages of their careers and life goals. The Gulf-UK Alumni’s contribution to Oman’s economy, financial planning, scholarship opportunities, support for business start-ups, millenials and the future of work were among the topics discussed. The main sponsors were HSBC Bank Oman and Dentons.
The British Council and the Board of the Alumni organise regular networking and professional development opportunities for their members to encourage new connections and reinforce existing ones.
