Muscat: Oman participated in the first open-ended, high-level meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "At the first open-ended, high-level meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, the Sultanate stressed that the achievement of balanced urban and rural development is an essential enabler for the implementation of the Oman 2040 vision."
The statement added that His Excellency, Saleh bin Sulaiman Al Harthy, Sultanate's Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya and its permanent representative to the programme held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, stated in his speech that the Sultanate calls for the strengthening of effective international partnerships in order to promote the values and principles of sustainability in its various fields.
