Rainfall, thunderstorms to continue over parts of Oman

Muscat: Thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and hail are expected over the Al Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas of Dhofar and Musandam governorates during the afternoon, extending to include the coasts of Oman Sea during the evening, Oman Meteorology said on Wednesday.

A statement issued online by Oman Meteorology said: "Clouds continue to flow over most governorates of the Sultanate with the possibility of cumulus clouds and thunderstorms accompanied by active winds and hail on Al Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas as well as the governorates of Musandam and Dhofar during the afternoon, extending to include the coasts of the Sea of Oman during the evening. "

"The aerial photo shows the flow and formation of clouds over the northwestern parts of the Sultanate with the presence of low clouds on parts of South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates,” Oman Meteorology added.

For Thursday, the weather forecast predicts occasional thundershowers over Dhofar, the Al Hajar mountains and surrounding areas in the afternoon. Friday is expected to bring clear skies for most parts of Oman with occasional over the Al Hajar mountains and surrounding areas as well as fog over most coastal areas.
