Publishing photos of rule breakers led to decrease of violations in Oman: Public Prosecutor

Muscat: The decision to apply a penalty and publish photos of people violating decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with Covid-19 led to a decrease in the number of reports received, the Public Prosecutor said.

“Public prosecution dealt with 132 cases during the past year related to managing public funds money laundering, including 13 cases of embezzlement of public funds, 16 cases of abuse of function, 3 cases of misuse of public funds, 3 cases of fraud and 3 other cases.”

"Seven cases related to human trafficking were registered in the prosecution in 2020, the same number as in 2019."
