Oman's social insurance authority clarifies stance on job security system

Muscat: Ending the services of 1 per cent of the total number of employees is a condition for the move to be considered a collective layoff and to benefit from the job security system.

The Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI), has issued Ministerial Decree No. R / 10/2020 regarding the termination of the service of the insured and what qualifies as collective termination.

Article 1: After terminating the service of the insured, a collective termination will be considered in accordance with Article 4 stipulated in the aforementioned job security system if one of the following two conditions is present:

 1- Termination of service for 2 insured persons or more during one month by the employer.

 2- Termination of service at the rate of one percent of the total number of insured persons with the employer.
