Expat to face jail term, deportation for selling tobacco illegally

An expatriate has been convicted for selling tobacco illegally in the North Al Sharqiyah governorate.
According to PACP, the accused manufactured and distributed non-smoking tobacco as well as cigarettes, which were not authorised for trade.
"The violator is to be convicted, imprisoned and deported from the country with a confiscation of the seized items. The raid revealed huge quantities of non-smoking tobacco being prepared and other quantities which were ready for marketing, as well as quantities of cigarettes that were not allowed to be traded. An amount of OMR 35,550 was also seized from the accused, which he earned from unauthorised trade."- Public Authority of Consumer Protection (PACP)
He will face a four-month jail sentence and deportation from the country.
