More than 500 workers arrested in February in Oman

Muscat: More than 500 workers were arrested in February, the Ministry of Manpower has informed.
According to the ministry, 45 of those arrested were working in car wash as car cleaners.
The ministry said in an online statement, "The Directorate General of Labour Welfare carried out a number of inspection campaigns in February this year which resulted in the arrest of 574 workers, including 80 working in Mawaleh Central Market for Vegetables and Fruit and 45 expats working in car wash."
"The necessary legal proceedings are being carried out against them," the ministry added.
