Wasco, Jotun, Vanderlande register impressive victories

Muscat: Deepesh Unnikoru, Samir Othman and Hiran Oliyath powered Wasco Orange to a comfortable 5-wicket win over Danmark in a G Division game of Oman Cricket League at OAC 3 ground in Seeb.
Invited to bat first, Danmark was bundled out for 146 in the 19th over, Doresh Devender top scoring with 48 off 30 balls. Deepesh and Samir picked up four and three wickets respectively.
Wasco raced to the target in the 18th over, scoring 150 for 5 thanks to Hiran’s superb 53. Samir Othman made a vital contribution of 23 not out to see his side to victory. Junaid took two wickets.
Brief scores (G Division): Danmark 146 all out in 18.3 overs (Doresh Devender 48 – 7x4, Javed Mohammed 37 – 5x4. Deepesh Unnikoru 4-27, Samir Uthman 3-26) lost to Wasco Orange 150 for 5 in 17.4 overs (Hiran Oliyath 53 – 10x4, Samir Othman 27 not out – 2x4. Junaid 2-32) by 5 wickets.

Jotun beat BOC
Prajeesh was the hero of Jotun’s 5-wicket victory against Bowsher Olympic Center (BOC) in a G Division match at Muscat Municipality ground 2.
BOC was restricted to 141 for 7 in 20 overs, Shan Kuttiraja top scoring with 71 and Tanuj Sivakumar contributing 24.
Jotun took only 17.1 overs to overhaul the target, scoring 143 for 5 thanks to brilliant batting by Prajeesh who slammed a swashbuckling 53 off only 25 balls, including 3 towering sixes. Jobby Balan batted well too for his 33. Sivakumar bowled well to claim three wickets.
Brief scores (G Division): BOC 141 for 7 in 20 overs (Shan Kuttiraja 71 – 10x4. Tanuj Sivakumar 24 – 3x4. Ratheesh Nair 2-17, Pranav 2-23) lost to Jotun 143 for 5 in 17.1 overs (Prajeesh 53 – 5x4, 3x6, Joby Balan 33 – 2x4. Tanuj Sivakumar 3-25) by 5 wickets.

Vanderlande win
Opener Sohail Khan hit a scintillating century to steer Vanderlande to an emphatic 55-run win against Jarzez Trading in an H Division match at OAC 3 ground.
Batting first, Vanderlande amassed 205 for 5 in 20 overs thanks to spectacular 102 off 60 balls by Sohail who looked in great touch hitting 15 fours and 2 sixes. Balamurugan and Mohammed Sultan scored 30 and 25 respectively.
Jarzez was dismissed for 150 in the 18th over. Suhail top scored with a highly entertaining 88 off 45 balls including 6 big sixes.
Captain Mohammed Sultan was clearly the best bowler of the match, taking 4 for 32.
