Muscat: Employees at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) have donated OMR166,000 help rebuild homes that were destroyed by Cyclone Mekunu.
The company launched a staff appeal in the immediate aftermath of the natural disaster. "PDO today donated OMR 166,000 through its staff initiative to help those affected by Cyclone Mekunu," the company said online.
Abdul Amir Al Ajmi External Affairs & Value Creation Director handed over the cheque to the Oman Charitable Organisation’s (OCO) Executive Chairman Ali Al Raisi.
This donation comes after an OMR5 million donation announced yesterday by the company. All of the money will be used to repair houses in the storm-hit areas. It will be divided between the southern wilayats in Dhofar and residents’ property that has been damaged in our concession area.
