Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) has agreed to extend the contract of the Oman national team coach Pim Verbeek.
According to the information shared by the OFA on their official twitter account, the experienced Dutchman will be in charge of the Sultanate’s squad till June 2020.
The new contract keeps Verbeek in charge of Oman team till the first round of qualifiers for 2022 World Cup.
The OFA will reveal the other details of the new contract during a press conference on Wednesday, when Verbeek will also speak about the national team’s preparations for the Asian Cup to be organised in the UAE in January, 2019.
The OFA first roped in Verbeek in December 2016 on a two-year contract.
During his stint, the Dutchman has guided Oman to 2019 Asian Cup finals in the UAE and to Gulf Cup glory early this year.
