Over 10,000 job test calls sent to Omanis in April: Ministry of Manpower

Muscat: More than 10,000 Omani job-seekers were issued interview and test calls during the month of April, the Ministry of Manpower has said.
It said that it has called during April 2018 some 10,419 job-seekers to attend interview and tests for employment in the private sector companies and establishments in the various governorates.
The ministry’s statistics showed that some 5,368 citizens have been appointed out of the total number of job-seekers called for interviews and tests during the month of April. The number of Omani job-seekers appointed from December 3, 2017 to end of April, 2018 stood at 26,103, according to the records kept by the Ministry of Manpower.
The statistics showed that 3,811 citizens have been appointed in the wholesale and retail sectors, 3,536 in the manufacturing sector, 1,324 in mining sector, 3,536 in transport sector.
The statistics further showed that 1,171 Omani job-seekers were appointed in administrative activities, 1,358 in food services, 1,254 in professional, scientific and technological activities, 640 in the education sector.
Similarly, 714 nationals were appointed in the finance and insurance sector, 640 in health and social services, 195 in water supply and waste management, 196 in agricultural services and fisheries, 447 in information and telecommunication sector, 236 in public administration and social security , 142 in real estate activities and 126 in other sectors.
