Oman crime: Housemaid, partner arrested for stealing

Muscat: An Asian housemaid and her partner were arrested in Al Musanaa for allegedly stealing OMR12,000 worth of jewellery, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported on Saturday.

According to an ROP source, the accused were arrested after officers received a report about a theft in the Al Khayran area.

Following investigations, the housemaid was caught in Al Musanaa with cash and gold jewellery worth OMR12,000.

Her partner, a man of the same nationality, was also arrested on the charges of assisting in the crime and violations related to labour law.
