#OmanPride: Mini-Highland Games draws huge crowd in Oman

Muscat: Hundreds of people attended the Mini-Highland Games and Festive Fair, organised by the Caledonian Society of Oman at the Intercontinental Hotel’s gardens yesterday.
Men, women and children thronged the event, where some games were played and stalls selling barbeque food, beverages, popcorn and other snacks were on offer. A variety of items, such as cushions, photo frames, bags, decorative items and much more were also on sale.

Many teams had signed up for the Tug-O-War, which took place throughout the event from 3.30pm to 7.30pm, in the backdrop of some pleasant Scottish music.
Clara, a resident of Oman who came to the event with her family, said, “It was such a lovely event, I loved everything here, right from the games to the food and the stall selling such beautiful items. I would definitely want more of such events happening in Muscat; you see the weather is gorgeous and the lawns are perfect for an event like this. We really enjoyed it.”

All the proceeds from the event were donated to the Dar Al Hanan cancer home for children and the Oman Cancer Association (OCA).
