Indian School students enrich Sanskrit knowledge at workshop

Muscat: Samskrita Bharati—an organisation that propagates the use of the ancient Indian language Sanskrit—is conducting a four-day workshop for the students of classes 9 and 10 from August 8 to 11 at Indian School Al Ghubra (ISG).
Balasubramanian, organising secretary of Samskrita Bharati, said a group of 48 students, who study Sanskrit as a second language, enthusiastically took part in the workshop, which was aimed at the practical use of the language with ease in day-to-day application.
Principal Papri Ghosh inaugurated the session and highlighted the greatness of the Sanskrit language and emphasised the fact that, “Sanskrit is the mother of all Indian languages.”
Students were thrilled to communicate in Sanskrit in a fun-filled atmosphere by using the language skills, which they had acquired. Through discussions, group work and practice sessions, the workshop focused on making students feel comfortable while speaking in Sanskrit.
The participation of students in such activities will not only help in subject enrichment, but also in the overall development of the child. The workshop was a precursor to the Sanskrit Day celebrations, which will be held on August 18.
