Muscat: A number of governorates in the Sultanate of Oman may witness thunderstorms and heavy rainfall on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 said Oman Meteorology.
According Oman Meteorology, the affected areas that may witness thundershowers are the governorates of Muscat, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, Musandam, Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah and it may extend to the coastal areas of Oman Sea.
"The expected impacts of thunder showers are heavy rainfalls ranging between (10-50)mm , downdraft winds of (15-35) knots, poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershowers and chances of overflowing valleys," Oman Meteorology added.
Oman Meteorology has advised people to move away from low-lying places, not to attempt to swim in valleys. It has also recommended people to supervise their children and make sure they stay away from approaching or crossing valleys to ensure safety.
