Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by the Chamber’s branch in Dhofar Governorate, launched the Omani Financial Manager Programme, which is organised by the Chamber in cooperation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India, and will continue until October 14.

The event, which was held at the Chamber's branch in Dhofar Governorate, was sponsored by His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Saeed Ba'wain, Minister of Labour, in the presence of His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Rawas, Chairman of the OCCI, and a number of officials and business leaders.

Dr. Abdullah bin Masoud Al-Harthy, Member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee on the programme, said: “The organisation of the programme comes within the framework of stimulating and developing the business environment in the governorate, in a way that contributes to enhancing the performance of the private sector through development of tools and programmes available to advance the economic development process in the Sultanate of Oman.”

For his part, Sajeev Swindran, representative of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India / ICAI / and a member of the supervisory committee, stressed the importance of the programme in developing and finding qualified human cadres that contribute to providing enriching services in the accounting profession by providing career development opportunities, raising the efficiency of workers, and finding mechanisms that support their entrepreneurial projects and enhance their professional skill in the field of accounting and finance.

The opening programme included a visual presentation on the Omani Finance Manager Programme and announcing the launch of the programme, as well as honoring the programme's supervisory committee.

The programme, which is offered by the Chamber for free every Saturday for a period of 8 weeks, starting from August 26, 2023, targets business owners and small and medium enterprises, and is based on eight axes in the areas of the general financial position of the company, financial, accounting and legal systems, in addition to the departments of resources, operations, financing and risks, in addition to budgets and work plans.

It should be noted that the Omani Financial Manager Programme is part of the initiatives and services provided by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to private sector institutions, entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises in an effort to increase their leadership capabilities by improving the business environment and enhancing the standards that qualify them to provide their projects with competencies working in the accounting profession.
