Dhofar Governorate likely to witness thunderstorms today

Muscat: Dhofar Governorate is expected to receive thunderstorms today, Sunday, Oman Meteorology said.

Today, July 30, 2023, the mountains and desert areas over Dhofar Governorate are expected to witness thunderstorms until 10 pm .

Oman Meteorology added that rainfall may range between 15-40 mm and cause poor horizontal visibility, along with downdraft winds of 25-45 knots, and chances of overflowing valleys.

Additionally, Oman Meteorology has urged people to move away from low-lying places, not to attempt to swim in valleys, as well as keep an eye on children and make sure they stay away from approaching or crossing valleys for the sake of public safety.
