Parts of Oman likely to witness thundershowers

Muscat: A number of the Sultanate of Oman's governorates are likely to witness thundershowers on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 1 pm till 10 pm, Oman Meteorology said.

According to Oman Meteorology, the thundershowers are expected over governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, Al Dhahira, North Al Sharqiyah and North Al Batinah.

The expected impacts of thundershowers are:

1- Poor horizontal visibility during thundershowers.

2- Downdraft winds ranging between 15-35 knots.

3- Chances of overflowing valleys.

To ensure safety, Oman Meteorology has urged people to move away from low-lying areas, not to attempt to swim in valleys. Keep an eye on children and make sure they stay away from approaching or crossing valleys.
