Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth will hold more than 65 activities in Khareef Season 2023.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, represented by the General Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth in Dhofar Governorate, has completed its preparations to implement the activities of the Khareef Dhofar Cultural and Sports Season for the year 2023.
Musa bin Abdullah Al Qassabi, Director General of the General Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth in Dhofar Governorate said: " The Khareef Dhofar Cultural and Sports Season for this year contains more than 65 cultural, sports and youth activities that will be available to various segments of society, including citizens, residents and tourists.
"The activities include: workshops on travel literature and cultural management, a cultural economy symposium, a number of cultural lectures and poetry evenings, and a singing competition. In addition to implementing the second edition of the Dhofar Theater Festival, " Al Qassabi added.
Al Qassabi added that the activities of this season will include various programmes and events for various segments of society, especially the youth category, which is the target group of the activities of the Khareef Dhofar Cultural and Sports Season, pointing to the preparation of an integrated program for the public library and the children's library represented in competitions and cultural meetings.In addition to youth programs that include workshops in information technology, montage, directing, marketing, and the Toastmaster competition, which is a competition in communication skill, public speaking art, and public speaking. In addition to courses in the field of fashion design, dialogue sessions, and a youth exhibition for creativity and innovation.
Regarding the sporting events that will be held during the Khareef Dhofar season, Musa bin Abdullah Al Qassabi, Director General of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Dhofar Governorate, said: " A swimming, bowling, snooker, billiards and tennis tournament will be organised, and a football tournament that includes a number of competitions, namely: buds, wilayats, government and the private sector institutions."
"Karate tournament, chess tournament, athletics tournament, table tennis tournament, workshops on sports injuries and club coordinators will be held. In addition to a number of women's activities in bowling, chess, electronic sports, an open sports day, the team and individual games tournament for clubs, and the celebration of Omani Women's Day will be organised, " the Director General added.
The Director General of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Dhofar Governorate confirmed that the various facilities of the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah will be available to hold most of those cultural, sports and youth events that have been carefully selected to meet the desires and tendencies of different age groups.
