Muscat: Activities for Khareef will be held in several new and existing locations in Dhofar, which will provide citizens, residents and visitors with opportunities for different experiences full of excitement, His Excellency the Chairman of Dhofar Municipality said.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality and Chairman of the Main Committee for Khareef Dhofar Activities, said that the most prominent events of this year's Khareef are:
- Ittin Square in Ittin Plain,
- Return to the Past in Al Haffa,
- Kiddy Time in Awqad Park,
- Lights Park in Salalah Park,
- Salalah Eat - People's Kitchen - in the Garden of Al Sa’adah.
“Each site has various activities, programmes and shows for the public,” he added.
His Excellency also indicated that many specialised exhibitions will be held, including the Salalah International Chocolate Exhibition, the first jewelry exhibition, the Gulf Perfumes Exhibition, and the Gulf Fashion Exhibition, in addition to organising art concerts, local and international theatrical performances, and various sports competitions.
Furthermore, His Excellency stressed that the Khareef Dhofar activities will preserve the cultural and civilizational identity of the governorate and highlight its historical heritage.
He also confirmed that many tourist areas have been developed in Dhofar Governorate this year, such as the view of Darbat Falls, Wadi Darbat, and Al-Mughsayl area. This is in addition to the improvement of the Ain Jerziz area and Hamreer view area.
