Muscat: An addition of mere 4,000 people is required for the population of Oman to hit a 5 million mark, says a report by the National Center for Statistics and Information in Oman. This is the first time in history that the Sultanate is hitting the mark of 5 million.
The population clock in the Center revealed that as on the morning of Sunday, the population has reached 4,997,063 people. This includes 57.6% Omanis and 42.3% expatriates.
On 14 March, the population of Oman reached 4,994,801 people. Out of this, Omanis formed 57.66% of the population of Oman with 2,880,214 people.
The data also showed that there are around 2,114,587 expatriates constituting 42.34% of the population of Oman.
It is worth noting that, on 16 February, the population of Oman reached 4,977,909 people.
