Oman takes over presidency of GCC Commercial Arbitration Center
Oman assumed the presidency after Saudi Arabia.

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman assumed the presidency of the Commercial Arbitration Center for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Arab States for the year 2023.

The Commercial Arbitration Center of the GCC announced in its 84th meeting of the Board of Directors that Oman will take over the presidency of the Center, starting from the beginning of January 2023 until December 31, 2023, represented by Ali bin Salem Al-Kasbi, Director of Legal Affairs at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The center stated that the transfer of the presidency to the representative of the Sultanate of Oman came in accordance with what was stipulated in Article (5) of the statute of the center, which is that the presidency of the board of directors should be periodic in accordance with what is in force in the meetings of the Cooperation Council, and that the presidency comes according to the alphabetical letters of the names of the countries of the Cooperation Council.

The Sultanate of Oman assumed the presidency after the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During its meeting, the council chose the vice president according to the country that will assume the presidency in the next session. The representative of the State of Qatar, Saleh Al Sharqi, was appointed as the vice president.
