Oman to celebrate Prophet Mohammed's birthday today

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will celebrate Prophet Mohammed's birthday on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Sohar Castle.

"The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, is celebrating this evening the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed, at Sohar Castle, under the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed bin Sulaiman bin Hammoud Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

The ceremony includes an operetta that embodies selected events from the biography of the Prophet, highlighting a number of the most prominent features of his personality and the human values that he called and lived in his life, in order to consolidate them in the hearts of Muslims and remind the Islamic world of them.

This ceremony is part of the plans, events and programmes through which the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs seeks to remind people of the biography of the Prophet Mohammed and revive it, which has an active role in emulating his qualities and his fragrant biography in various aspects.

Muslims commemorate Mawlid, or Prophet Mohammed's Birthday, during ‘Rabi’ al-Awwal,’ the third month of the Islamic calendar. The Prophet's birthday falls this year on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
