Muscat: The Serb season in the Governorate of Dhofar is a time when the warmth of the sun rays begin to shine with the gentle morning breeze, where trees are filled with a lush green hue and flowers bloom in all their glory.
On Wednesday, 21st of September of every year, in the Governorate of Dhofar, the "Serbs" spring season, as it is called locally, began, and will last for three months until December 21 of each year.
The atmosphere of the “Serb” season is characterised by the brightness of the sun, moderate weather, low humidity, the cessation of sea turmoil, and the splendor of the landscapes is manifested in the mountains, plains and deserts.
The governorate during this season is known for the wonderful weather and scenic beauty that attracts tourists from across the globe.
Serb plays an integral part in the seasonal agricultural harvest in mountainous and plain areas that are dependent on the rains. The season also has its economic importance to farmers, fishermen and livestock breeders, in addition to honey production and the availability of fish.
