Muscat: More than OMR 400,000 are disbursed monthly for social security cases in Dhofar Governorate.
Oman News Agency (ONA) reported that the number of social security cases in the Governorate of Dhofar until the end of April 2022 reached 5,071, while the amount paid to them per month amounted to OMR 457,721.
Mohammed bin Humaid Al Kalbani, Director-General of the Directorate General of Social Development in the Governorate of Dhofar, said that emergency aid was provided with more than OMR 57,000 for 502 cases supervised by the Directorate.
Al Kalbani added that the total aid provided through the social development committees in the wilayats of the Dhofar Governorate amounted to more than OMR 258,000 to 6,828 beneficiary families. While the total number of people enrolled in the Al-Wafa Centres for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities reached 347, of whom 69 per cent are rehabilitated in the Salalah Wilayat Centre.
Al Kalbani indicated that during the first quarter of this year, 50 medical devices and aids that varied between medical beds, wheelchairs and respirators were distributed. In addition to employing seven citizens of social security cases and people with limited income, in coordination with the competent authorities and to provide social services to 132 elderly.
