Expats fined OMR 2,000 for illegal tobacco sales

Muscat: An administrative fine of OMR 2,000 has been imposed on two expats for selling chewing, non-smoking tobacco in South Al Batinah Governorate.

"The Consumer Protection Department in the Wilayat of Rustaq in South Al Batinah Governorate arrests two expatriate workers for selling chewing, non-smoking tobacco in their shops and imposes an administrative fine of OMR 2,000 on them, " Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) said in a statement.
