Two expats arrested for illegal fishing in Oman

Muscat: Two expats were arrested and two unlicensed fishing boats were seized for practicing fishing in a prohibited area in the Wilayat of Duqm in Al Wusta Governorate.

"The Fisheries Control Team in Al Wusta Governorate was able to seize two unlicensed fishing boats and two expatriates practicing fishing in the Nafun area in the Wilayat of Duqm. The boats were seized and the violating workers were transferred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures," the Directorate General of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in Al Wusta Governorate said.
