Muscat: A medical evacuation has been conducted by the Royal Air Force of Oman for an Australian citizen who had a fall while touring the Al Hallaniyat Islands in Dhofar Governorate.

"Today, one of the helicopters of the Royal Air Force of Oman carried out a medical evacuation of an Australian patient who was injured after he fell while touring the Al Hallaniyat Islands. His critical health condition necessitated his transfer from the Al Hallaniyat Health Centre to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in the Wilayat of Salalah in Dhofar Governorate to receive the necessary treatment," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

"This comes within the framework of the national efforts and humanitarian services provided by the Sultan's Armed Forces and other departments of the Ministry of Defence to citizens and residents of the homeland along with the rest of the other government institutions in the country," ONA added.
