Muscat: The Ministry of Labour launched Miran platform for blended learning to provide people with training material online along with traditional education. This contributes to alignment with international standards and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr Mahad bin Saeed Baowain, the Minister of Labour, their Excellencies the Undersecretaries, and a number of distinguished attendees.
Hayan Al Lamki, an employee at the Training and Support Centre, confirmed that the Miran platform comes with four users - the trainer, the trainee, and the training institution, in addition to the ministry's employees.
He added: "The mechanism for applying for training through the Miran platform is in partnership with the private sector to provide training opportunities coupled with employment, and then receive and review applications, visit institutions and training institutes to ensure quality, and start the procedures for approving training applications, ending with the registration of the training contract."
The trainee obtains the skills in order to get future employment opportunities locally and internationally.
The Ministry added: "The Skills and Abilities Passport aims to educate trainees, funded by the Ministry of Labour, about the importance of competitive qualifications."
His Excellency the Undersecretary for Human Resources Development stressed that the Miran platform comes as a wonderful response to our era characterised by speed, constant change and challenge in responding to the growing demands of society and ensuring that the Omani forces acquire the knowledge and skills required to perform their jobs.
