Muscat: The Plant Diseases Laboratory has analysed more than 235 samples so far this year.
"Plant diseases and insects laboratories at the Central Laboratory for Phytosanitary and Food Safety ensure the safety and quality of various agricultural, animal and fish products," said a statement by Oman News Agency.
The samples were sent by the Agricultural Quarantine Inspectors of the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources from across various Oman ports.
The Insects and Nematodes Laboratory has analysed 438 samples this year, including 304 to determine the type of insect infestations and 134 samples to determine the type of nematodes.
