1,258 new coronavirus cases, 14 deaths reported in Oman

Muscat: More than 1,200 new COVID-19 were reported in the Sultanate on Wednesday.

As many as 1,258 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were registered in the Sultanate on Wednesday, in addition to 14 new COVID-19-related death cases.

This brings the total number of positive COVID-19 cases to 219,529 in the Sultanate.

The total number of Covid-19-related death cases reached 2,370, the Ministry of Health said. The Ministry added that 692 new cases have recovered, bringing the total number to 201,113 recoveries.

The Ministry also pointed out that 124 cases were hospitalised over the past 24 hours, as the total number of current hospitalised COVID-19-infected patients stands at 824. Of that number, 265 are in intensive care units (ICUs).

Meanwhile, the Ministry of health and the Ministry of Education continue administering vaccines to General Education Diploma (GED) students in all the governorates of the Sultanate, as the total number of administered vaccines by yesterday (Tuesday) reached 41,155 which covers 54 per cent.
