Over 12,000 industrial licenses registered in Oman during 2020

Muscat: The number of industrial licenses registered with the Ministry of  Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) in 2020, reached 12,176.

The MoCIIP, in a statement, also mentioned that 465 exemption decisions were issued electronically in 2020 alongwith 17 tax exemption decisions. 5,775 type B permits were issued in favour of GCC countries to obtain exemption for imported material for industrial establishments. The number of applications for land to be utilised under the right of usufruct by the industrial projects, reached 119.

Ibtisam Bint Mohammad Al-Alawiya, Secretary of the Industrial Registry at the Ministry said: “Based on Ministerial Decisions No. 65 and 66/2009 issued by the Ministry of Finance regarding the controls of customs exemption for industrial establishments, they shall  adhere to all provisions of the decisions regulating customs exemptions and ensure that the exempted materials are used for the purpose for which they were exempted.”

She added, “Industrial establishments shall  submit their requests for customs exemption  for each industrial license separately, and shall use the exemption decision for each branch separately too.”
