Indonesian Embassy, OCCI Dhofar branch seek to boost economic cooperation
Muscat: H.E. Mohamad Irzan Djohan, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Sultanate, held a virtual meeting with the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Dhofar branch, Eng. Hussein bin Hathith Al Bathari, to discuss various potentials of economic cooperation.
Accompanied by Ahmad Ma’rufi (First Secretary) and Pilar Paradewi (Third Secretary), Indonesian Ambassador reiterated the commitment to continue working with OCCI including OCCI Dhofar branch to enhance trade volume and investment cooperation.
Chairman of OCCI Dhofar branch, Eng. Hussein bin Hathith Al Bathari, mentioned the excellent reputation of Indonesian industry and the potentials to work with its business counterparts in the Sultanate especially Dhofar Governorate.
Chairman of OCCI Dhofar branch pointed out to the opportunities of cooperation in the field of mining, logistics, sea fishing, manufacture, and tourism development as these are the priority sectors in Oman Vision 2040.
Chairman of OCCI Dhofar branch also encouraged Indonesian companies to invest in Salalah Free Zone and take advantage of Salalah being a trade hub for export to other countries in the Gulf and east Africa.
Ambassador Irzan Djohan welcomes the opportunities and in the framework of following them up proposed holding a virtual business forum that will gather businessmen and potential investors from Indonesia and the Sultanate especially Dhofar Governorate.
Ambassador Irzan Djohan invites the Chairman of OCCI Dhofar and businessmen in Dhofar Governorate to visit Indonesia if the situation allows to explore and discuss further opportunities of cooperation with their counterparts in Indonesia, especially during the occasion of Trade Expo Indonesia that will be held in Jakarta on October 23-24, 2021.
During the meeting, Ambassador Irzan Djohan also took the opportunity to present the company profile of 10 Indonesian companies that produce and export automotive spare-parts, medicines and medical equipments, frozen foods, living livestock, optical devices for military, health equipment, and furniture.
During the virtual meeting, Chairman of OCCI Dhofar branch was accompanied by Mohammad Al Barami (Director) Ghazi Al Hamar (Deputy Director) and Amir Al Mashani (Economic Analyst).
