Muscat: The total quantities of fish landed in the Sultanate by the end of December 2020 has reached more than 700,000 tons, an increase of  38 per cent, the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) revealed on Wednesday.  

A statement issued online by the Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The total quantities of fish landed in the Sultanate increased by 38 per cent by the end of December 2020, to reach 799,366 tons, valued at OMR 349,832,000, according to the National Center for Statistics and Information."

"The highest quantity of fish landed by artisanal fishing came from Al-Wusta Governorate, reaching 293,893 tons, while the largest quantity of fish came from the share of small pelagics and at the end of last December it reached 450,868 tons,” the statement added.
