Over 1000 personal status cases received in courts

Muscat: The total number of personal status cases received at the courts during the period of the Covid 19 pandemic from March to the end of October of 2020 has exceeded 1000, the Conical of Administration Affairs For the Judiciary (CAAJ), announced on Sunday.  

A statement issued online by The Conical of Administration Affairs For the Judiciary (CAAJ), said, "The total number of personal status cases received in the courts in the corridors of the courts during the period of the Covid 19 pandemic from March to the end of October of 2020 amounted to 1,239. The total number of divorce cases in the courts was 49.5 percent, while the total number of alimony lawsuits was 47.2 per cent.”

“The percentage of the total number of custody and alimony cases in the courts was 25 percent, while the percentage of the total number of marriage cases was 1.9 percent, while the total number of child extradition cases was 1.3 percent," the statement added.
