Oman may record marked decrease in temperatures: CAA

Muscat: A marked decrease in the maximum and minimum temperatures can be expected in all governorates and wilayats of the Sultanate starting from Saturday, 2nd January 2021, continuing for the next three days 

A statement issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said, ”A marked decrease in the maximum and minimum temperatures, starting today and during the next three days, when the lowest temperatures reach 16-11 degrees on the coasts of the Sea of Oman and range between 12 to 6 degrees in the interior and desert areas, while it reaches zero degrees Celsius in the mountain tops.”

In its weather forecast (CAA) said, ”Mainly clear skies over most of the Sultanate with the existence of isolated clouds and chances of isolated rain over parts of Al Hajar Mountains.”

"The expected maximum and minimum temperatures will be 23 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees in Muscat, 24 degrees and 14 degrees in Sohar, 23 degrees and 17 degrees in Sur, 24 degrees and 22 degrees in Masirah, 27 degrees and 10 degrees in Haima, 24 degrees and 13 degrees in Rustaq, 25 degrees and 20 degrees in Duqum, 24 degrees and 13 degrees in Ibri, 23 degrees and 17 degrees in Khasab, 24 degrees and 14 degrees in Buraimi, 10 degrees and 3 degrees in Seiq, 23 degrees and 12 degrees in Nizwa, 27 degrees and 21 degrees in Salalah and 26 degrees and 12 in Thamrait.”
