Maqbool Hameed Al Saleh, a prominent corporate leader in Oman, has donated OMR5,000 to Dar Al Atta’a for the charity’s work for the community.  With the release of his memoir ‘A Long Walk – Memories of Life’ on November 7, 2020, Maqbool had pledged to donate all proceeds from his book sales to charity in dedication to Oman’s 50th year of the renaissance. This is the first of the ongoing donations that he expects to contribute back to society.

Handing over the donation to Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a, Maqbool said, “I am delighted to present this donation to Dar Al Atta’a, a voluntary organisation that is dedicated to the community providing the less privileged in society with basics that secure them a decent living. I appreciate their good work, and wish them well in their noble efforts. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have bought the book. I hope you have enjoyed reading and sharing my experiences and thoughts.”

Receiving the donation, the Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a, said, “We express our thanks and appreciation to Maqbool Hameed for his contribution. Maqbool’s life’s work has been encapsulated in his memoir, and that he has chosen to donate the proceeds to charity is humbling and remarkable. Dar Al Atta’a celebrates our association with Maqbool and we wish him the very best.”

‘A Long Walk – Memories of Life’ presents a personal account of Maqbool’s long and inspiring journey from humble beginnings to success, recounting multitude of interesting experiences and defining moments that have shaped his life through this long journey.
Copies of the book can be purchased at a retail price of OMR10 at leading bookstores across Oman including Borders, WH Smith, Al Fair/Spinneys Supermarkets, and Souq of Oman at Muscat International Airport.  All further proceeds will also be donated to charity.
