More flights to India announced

Muscat: Airlines are increasing their flights to India after the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) increased the number of weekly flights between the two countries.

According to travel agents, Air India will add more flights to Delhi and Mumbai while Air India Express will add flights to south India. “According to the plan, Air India Express will add more flights to Kochi and Trivandrum while Air India will have four weekly flights to Delhi and Mumbai,” an official said.

Regarding flights to India, CAA said: “It has been agreed that 12,000 seats will be shared between the two countries which will be evenly distributed with 6,000 seats on each side. This represents a growth rate of 20 percent.”

This comes after following the decisions issued by the Supreme Committee for dealing with COVID-19, to ensure gradual and safe return of air traffic to the Sultanate, in light of the pandemic.
