Muscat: The tropical depression in the southwest of the Arabian Sea has developed into a tropical storm.
A statement issued online by Oman Meteorology said: "The tropical state in the southwest of the Arabian Sea has developed into a tropical storm with wind speeds around the centre ranging between 45 to 55 knots and continuing to move west towards the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Aden."
