Oman helps rescue Iranian crew

Muscat: All 15 crew members were rescued from a sinking Iranian ship after a joint operation between the British Royal Navy and Oman coastguard, naval and air forces on Tuesday.
A search and rescue operation was launched for the 15-member crew of Iran’s Al Zaman Ship which sank 96 nautical miles off the coast of Ras Al Hadd.
The Portland ship of the British Royal Navy, the closet to Al Zaman vessel managed to rescue the crew after a RAFO plane dropped lifebuoys for them.
The Maritime Security Centre conducts search and rescue operations among other operations related to marine security risks in coordination with the departments concerned in the Sultanate Oman.
