Three expatriate nurses killed in Nizwa road accident

MUSCAT: In a tragic accident reported on Thursday, three nurses, working in Nizwa Hospital were killed following a run-over accident in front of the hospital, according to the Directorate General of Hospital in the al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

All three nurses were expatriates with two hailing from India and one from Egypt. Two more nurses were injured in the accident that took place while the nurses were returning to their residential accommodation from the hospital after work.

 The directorate said: “With great sadness the Interior Health and Nizwa Hospital mourn the nurses who were subjected to a run-over accident in front of the hospital, which resulted in the death of three nurses (Amani Abdul Latif, Sharja Ilyas, Majitha Rajesh) and the injury of two nurses (Shirley Jasmine, Malu Matthew). We ask God for mercy and forgiveness for them, and for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
