70 nylon fishing nets seized in Oman

Muscat: More than 65 pieces of nylon nets have been seized by the fish control team in Al Wusta Governorate for violating the Marine Fishing Law.

A statement issued online by Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said: "The Fisheries Control Team in Al Wusta Governorate managed to seize 70 pieces of nylon nets, which are banned in the Wilayat of Duqm, which is in violation of the Marine Fishing Law and the Protection of Live Aquatic Resources and its regulations. Legal procedures against the violators are being completed."
