Here’s why you shouldn’t litter in Oman's parks and beaches

Muscat: People who engage in banned activities that dirty parks and beaches in Oman will be fined, Muscat Municipality has warned, after the department of urban inspection in Boushar fined a number of people for violating public laws.

Despite now being illegal, many people still barbecue with their friends in these areas, and acts such as this, as well as others, such as smoking a shisha and not disposing of the leftover coal and wrappings, will be subject to heavy fines.

In a statement Muscat Municipality said: “In the framework of promoting continuous visits to public parks and beaches, a number of visitors to these sites have been fined for failing to comply with the laws and regulations for the protection of public facilities.”
