Muscat: Oman on Thursday clarified that the decision to airlift its students and citizens from US in a chattered Qatar Airways flight was taken following a “commercial agreement” with the Doha-based airline.
A statement issued online by the Government Communication Center said: “The government had contracted Qatar Airways as it hold the licence to fly to US. We would like to clarify that this was done on a commercial agreement and not for free. Oman Air does not have the licence to fly to US and our priority was to bring back our citizens and students immediately.
