Muscat: Oman has held 177 exhibitions aimed towards marketing of local products, development of partnerships and to attract investors in 2019, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said.
“The exhibition sector helped in marketing of local products and development of partnerships between companies and attracting investors. The government is trying to organise regional and international exhibitions in the Sultanate of Oman, to attract local and international investors for such exhibitions, and to manage them in a way which complies with the norms of the Sultanate, the region and the world, and which matches the economic changes taking place in the country. The number of exhibitions held during the period from January to December in the year 2019 reached 177,” a statement from the MOCI said.
The Trade Affairs Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry added that among these exhibitions, 32 were marketing exhibitions, 55 involved the promotion of national products and industries, seven were organised by the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, 11 were charitable exhibitions, five were cultural exhibitions, one was a specialised consumer exhibition, nine exhibitions were part of accompanying festivals and conferences, one was an exhibition involving commercial centres, three were single-country exhibitions, and 53 involved conferences, seminars, and workshops.
