Opal appoints new CEO

Muscat: Oman Society for Petroleum Services (Opal) has recently appointed Abdulrahman Al-Yahyaei as the new chief executive officer.
Abdulrahman joins Opal with more than 16 years of diverse professional experience in business marketing, planning, finance and business development and has held several senior positions in government and oil and gas industry. His most recent role was the Director at Occidental Oil Asia, responsible for Marketing & Operations in the Arab Gulf region.
Al Yahyaei holds a bachelor’s degree in financial accounting from Sultan Qaboos University and MBA from the University of Strathclyde.
Speaking on his appointment as the new CEO to Opal, Abdulrahman said: “I’m here for the same reason I think most people join Opal, we are here to standardise certain industry practices and enhance skills through world-class training that empowers people to do amazing things, including empowering our youth and future generations to sustain prosperity of the energy sector.”
