Free check up for colon and rectal cancers at this hospital in Oman

Muscat: The Royal Hospital has announced the launch of an early Colon Cancer Examination method as a pilot service.

A statement has issued online by the Ministry of Health said: “The hospital launches for the first time in the Sultanate, the Early Colon Cancer Examination, a pilot service between December 9 and 11, 2019. “

“The accuracy of the examination is more than 90%, as the service depends on the examination of a sample of stool," the Ministry said.

“The launch of the service comes as colon cancer is one of the most common cancerous tumors among residents in the Sultanate.”

“Colon and rectal cancers are curable if diagnosed early. If you are over forty years old, go visit the doctor and ask about examination for early colon and rectal cancer,” Ministry of Health added

Royal Hospital called on citizens and residents to get a free check-up at the Royal Hospital from December 9 to 11, 2019 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at the main entrance of the Royal Hospital on the first floor.
