Muscat: With the blessings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, 15th Fiqh Sciences Development Symposium “Water Fiqh in the Islamic law, its Legal Provisions, Civilized Prospects and Contemporary Issues” began here on Sunday.
The three-day symposium is organised and supervised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. The opening of the seminar was held under the patronage of Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saeed Al Saeedi, Minister of
Legal Affairs.
The symposium includes 14 sessions dealing with 8 themes related to Islamic laws in water Fiqh, water issues in Fiqh, water fatwas and Fiqh, implementations of Islamic heritage, readings in water Fiqh, water Fiqh and contemporary conflicts and the provisions of the sea in Fiqh.
The symposium will include 57 working papers for a number of muftis in some Arab and Islamic countries, scholars and intellectuals from inside and outside the Sultanate. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of ministers, undersecretaries, advisors, and honorable members of the State Council, members of Majlis Al Shura, a number of sheikhs, and judges, officials and those interested in Fiqh.
