Muscat: Based on the care and attention of the Government of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to the people of this beloved country, and on humanitarian grounds, the command of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) responded to a call made by sons of a citizen to help them to transfer their father, suffering from internal bleeding in the brain at a hospital in Shiraz, Islamic Republic of Iran.
The man was in a coma that made it impossible to fly him back to the Sultanate by a commercial flight or other means of transport.
The RAFO sent a private plane to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a full medical team, supplied with the necessary medical equipment from the Ministry of Health and a number of RAFO specialists, and accompanied by the family of the patient ‘Ali bin Humaid Al Ma’amari, resident of the Wilayat of A’Rustaq . The plane carried them from Shiraz International Airport to A’Seeb Air Base, and then transferred via ambulance to Khoula Hospital for treatment and the required health care.
