Voting for Shura Council elections begins in Oman

Muscat: Voters began casting their ballot for their preferred Shura Council candidates in 110 polling centers across the Sultanate.

"Early in the morning, Omanis voted to elect 86 members who will represent them in the Ninth period of Shura Council, with 637 candidates, including 597 men and 40 women."

Since 7:00 am in all the wilayats of the Sultanate, 110 electoral centers have received citizens and voters who are voting by electronic voting machines installed in all centers.

19 centers are reserved for male voters and 19 more for females, in addition to 72 joint centers and eight unified polling stations which are established in five governorates .

The number of voters registered in the electoral register for the ninth period is 733,335.
